25 May 2010 → Opera and Ballet Theaters of Belarus, Georgia to sign memorandum of cooperation
The National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus and the Tbilissi State Opera and Ballet Theater are set to sign a memorandum of cooperation in Minsk on 25 May, Director of the Tbilissi theater David Sakvarelidze told a press conference on 24 May.
Besides, the director of the Tbilissi theater plans to invite one of the Belarusian dramas to partake in the festival of theater arts slated for October in Georgia. David Sakvarelidze was also interested in the Belarusian Opera and Ballet Theater which has been recently reconstructed.
According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Belarus Giorgi Chkheidze, the mutual relations in culture have always been close between the two countries. In his words, the Belarusian and Georgian people can take pride in the outstanding cultural and art figures whose works are well-known both in Belarus and Georgia and abroad. The Ambassador believes that the organization of cultural days is a promising area of the bilateral cultural cooperation.
