16 June 2010 → Minsk puppet theater wins best director award at festival in Poland

The Belarusian puppet theater won the best director award at the 23rd international theater festival Walizka in Poland for the production titled as Why People Age?, BelTA learnt from Darya Vizner, the chief of the literary and drama department of the theater.

The production of the Minsk theater was recognized best among the performances presented by 17 theaters from Belarus, Russia, Poland, Slovenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, and Spain. The production by Aleksei Lelyavsky was highly acclaimed by the professional jury and the audience. The 23rd international theater festival Walizka was held in Lodz on 8-11 June.

Aleksei Lelyavsky and artist Tatiana Nersisyan are now working on a production based on Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters. The new performance will be premiered at the start of the new season in September.
