28 June 2010 → Minsk intends to hold Festival of Belarusian Natives Abroad
The Festival of Belarusian Natives Abroad is expected to be held in Minsk in 2011 for the first time, Culture Minister of Belarus Pavel Latushko told the first session of the advisory council for Belarusian natives abroad in Minsk on 25 June, BelTA has learnt.
The festival will be organized by the Belarus Culture Ministry, the Office of the Commissioner for Religions and Nationalities of Belarus under the auspices of the Foreign Ministry, local authorities and public organizations.
The festival is expected to be held once in two years. Around 300 participants from various countries plan to take part in the first festival. Festival’s concerts will be given not only in Minsk but in other cities of the country.
The concerts will be organized on the most important stages of the country including the Palace of the Republic and the Belarus State Philharmonic Hall. The Belarus National Museum of Arts will host an exhibition of the Belarusian artists who live in foreign countries. The National Museum of History will hold the photo exhibition which will tell about the life and activity of the Belarusian natives abroad. Belarusian writers and poets will take part in the literary festival. The festival will last three-five days.
The Regulations on the Festival of Belarusian Natives Abroad is expected to be drafted in the near future. The document will be introduced before the Belarusian unions abroad until 1 September.
