15 June 2010 → Belarusian-Chinese project for Minsk industrial house-building venture unveiled
The Belarusian company Minskstroy and the Chinese company Beijing Uni-Construction Group Co. Ltd (BUCC), one of the world’s largest developers, plan to sign a contract by September 2010. In line with the contract an industrial house-building enterprise will be set up in Minsk, Minskstroy Director General Yevgeniy Vovna told BelTA.
The Belarusian and Chinese companies have signed an agreement on cooperation in implementing the investment project. The Chinese side is now busy working on the draft contract, said the source. If the sides come to terms, the contract may be signed in Q3 2010, approximately by September.
According to preliminary arrangements a Chinese loan will be used to build the enterprise. The Chinese company will also be the primary contractor, with one third of the equipment Chinese-made.
Apart from that, Minsk City Hall plans to spend Br2 billion out of the innovations fund on the project.
The new enterprise will be able to build 400,000 square meters of housing annually. It will be commissioned step by step. Once the first startup complex is operational, the output capacity will be close to 200,000 square meters per annum. It is the construction of the first startup complex that will be accomplished as part of the investment project.
BelTA reported earlier that the new enterprise will be located in the industrial area Shabany. The enterprise will manufacture all the components required for building homes such as mixed concrete, exterior wall panels, ceiling panels, staircases, elevator shafts. The manufacturing lines will be tuned to make components for uninhabited premises. The components will be a new product on the Belarusian market. The manufacturing process will be energy-saving. Among other products the company will offer new-generation assembled frames. The product allows building more comfortable homes with adjustable layouts.
