12 May 2010 → Minsk City Delegation to Participate in Festive Events on the Occasion of the Thousandth Anniversary of Hanoi

A Minsk City delegation will take part in the festive events to be dedicated to the Thousandth Anniversary of the City of Hanoi (Vietnam). According to "Minsk-News" Agency correspondent an official invitation to the festivities was handed over to Nikolai Ladutko, Acting Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee during his meeting with the delegation of Hanoi.

The festive events are to take place from 1 to 10 October, this year. Among the participants in the festivities the Vietnamese would like to see not only Belarusian folk groups but businessmen too.

About 30 countries, including Japan and South Korea, have already confirmed their decision to participate in the festivities dedicated to the Thousandth Anniversary of Hanoi. Mr. Nguyen The Thao, Mayor of Hanoi, Chairman of the People's Committee, said that during the festivities it would be possible for the delegations to hold weeks of their national culture and economy.

The Belarusian capital has been maintaining close partnership relations with the Vietnamese capital since November 2004 - the time when the Agreement on the establishment of friendly relations and cooperation between the two cities was signed.
