17 May 2010 → International conference in Minsk to discuss ethnocultural development of Belarus
Scientists will discuss the ethnocultural development of Belarus in the 19th – early 21st century at the international conference in Minsk. The two-day international research conference will open in Belarus State University (History Department) on 19 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.
Attending the conference will be more than 80 researchers from Poland, Ukraine, Germany, professors of a number of Belarusian universities, representatives of Belarus’ museums and travel agencies.
Rector of Belarus State University Sergei Ablameiko, Culture Minister of Belarus Pavel Latushko, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism Cheslav Shulga, Professor of Warsaw University Elzbieta Smulkowa will take part in the opening of the conference.
The conference will include five sections: “Ethnical Communities of Belarus”, “Traditional Belarusian Culture”, “Ethnocultural Processes”, “Museology and Tourist Science”, “Arts History and Critics”. Participants of the sections are set to discuss the principles of the modern Belarusian ethnology, the development of the traditional Belarusian culture, ethnocultural processes in Belarus, analyze the role of museums, their heritage and research activity.
The conference will be organized by the Historical Department of Belarus State University.
