25 May 2012 → In the period from 28 to 31 May 2012 there will be held the VII Belarusian International Media Forum "Partnership for the Future: Models of a New Era" in the Republic of Belarus

In the period from 28 to 31 May 2012 there will be held the VII Belarusian International Media Forum "Partnership for the Future: Models of a New Era" in the Republic of Belarus. The forum organizers are the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, The Standing Committee of the Union State, the Interstate Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS Member States and the Belarusian Union of Journalists. The forum supporters are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, the Department of Media and Advertising of Moscow, the CIS Executive Committee, Minsk City Executive Committee as well as Minsk Region and Vitebsk Region Executive Committees.

The Belarusian International Media Forum has traditionally been an arena for representatives of expert and media community of CIS countries as well as those from neighbouring countries and beyond to hold discussions, exchange views and develop new ideas and concepts. The participants in the Forum are supposed to discuss the pressing issues of our time in the formation of new geopolitical realities. The building of the Union State, creation of the Single Economic Space of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, the impact of integration processes in the development of sovereign states, the role of media in the course of transformation of social realities and technology development. These and other topics will be the key issues at the Forum.

The Media Forum annually brings together representatives from over 20 countries - leaders of the state government bodies, parliamentarians, mass media executives, experts, political scientists, economists, scientists, public figures, representatives of business community. 500 representatives from Belarus and other CIS countries, as well as from neighbouring countries and beyond have been invited to participate in the Media Forum 2012.

The Media Forum program provides for the holding of a plenary session, thematic panels, expert sessions, "Round tables", master classes as well as a number of activities in the context of the 1150th anniversary of Polotsk and the Year Book in the Republic Belarus. As continuation of good practice Summer School of Journalism will be held within the Media Forum.

The capital of the Republic of Belarus will appear before the forum participants as expressive images of the times and periods in an impromptu prologue "Turning over the pages of epochs" and frames a unique photo archive. The Forum participants will receive first hand information about development priorities of Minsk, the magnitude of the plans of scientists, industrialists and builders. One of the expert training sessions is bound to open horizons of the preparation of Minsk and the Belarusian athletes for the World Ice Hockey Championship - 2014.

The Belarusian International Media Forum gives rise to new ideas and projects. At this year's forum they are going to launch an International Festival of TV programs "The image of the time" established by the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, Representation of the Interstate TV and Radio Company "Mir" in the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Union of Journalists.
