05 April 2017 → The Austrian delegation paid tribute to the memory of those killed in Trostenets
The delegation from Vienna laid a wreath in memory of the Austrian Jews who were killed by the Nazis in the "Trostenets" death camp, the "Minsk-Novosti" agency reports.
The wreath laying ceremony took place within the framework of the official visit of the Austrian delegation to Minsk. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Belarus Alexander Beyerl gave a short excursion to the guests of the capital and told about the history of the concentration camp, as well as the construction of the memorial. After that, the Vice-Mayor of Vienna, Deputy Chairman of the Austrian Freedom Party Johann Gudenus and the deputy of the Austrian Parliament David Lazar installed a wreath at the monument "The Gates of Memory". They honored the memory of the Austrian Jews who were killed in Minsk and in the concentration camp "Trostenets".
