26 June 2017 → Unique unmanned equipment to be seen at the festive parade dedicated to the Republic Day

For the first time, at the military parade to be held during the celebration of Independence Day unmanned equipment manufactured in Belarus will be presented, including the only in the world in this class reconnaissance unmanned helicopter as well as some other aircraft that can develop a speed of up to 500 km per hour.

This was said at a press conference on June 26 by the Head of the Information Department of the Main Directorate of Ideological Work of the Defense Ministry Vladimir Makarov, the "Minsk-Novosti" Agency correspondent reports.

In total, on July 3 participation in the military parade will be taken by representatives of 30 formations of military units and 5 educational institutions as well as about 6,000 servicemen. It is also reported that more than 500 units of helicopter and caterpillar vehicles are planned to be used.

"At the end of the parade, for more detailed acquaintance about 50 pieces of equipment will be exhibited at the demonstration sites near the main site of action, which is one of the innovations of Independence Day this year," Vladimir Makarov said.

For the first time pilots of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Voluntary Society for Assisting Army, Air Force and Navy will also take part in the parade. All the units of the Guards mechanized brigades of the ground forces and guards units of special operations forces will be involved.

In the sky above Minsk, they are going to demonstrate the power and maneuverability of 12 Mi-8 MTV-5 and Mi-24 helicopters, An-26 aircraft accompanied by the Yak-130, four Su-25 airplanes, MiG-29 fighters and the L-39 airplane. The Russian Federation military-space forces will present four Ka-52 combat helicopters and four Su-34 and Su-27 airplanes.

"Funding for the celebration parade in commemoration of the main holiday of the Belarusian statehood is financed within the funds allocated by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus for the current maintenance of the Armed Forces," V. Makarov reminded.
