21 October 2009 → Estonian Embassy opens in Belarus

An official opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Belarus took place in Minsk on 20 October. Partaking in the event was Foreign Minister of Estonia Urmas Paet who arrived in Belarus on a two-day working visit, BelTA has learnt.
Foreign Minister of Estonia Urmas Paet is expected to meet with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Martynov on 21 October. The two sides are to consider promising areas of cooperation in the political, trade and economic, treaty-legal sectors, the relations with the EU, collaboration in the international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.
The two sides are planning to sign a bilateral intergovernmental agreement on assistance and mutual protection of investments.
A big delegation of Estonian businessmen is also in Minsk to partake in the first Belarusian-Estonian economic forum organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
