22 October 2009 → Minsk conference to discuss problems of infectious human pathologyThe international research conference 'Current Problems of Infectious Human Pathology' will open in Minsk on 22 October, BelTA learnt from the Belarus National Research Institute for Epidemiology and Microbiology (RIEM). The main goal of the conference is to share experience and discuss the latest research in the field of epidemiology and microbiology, improvement of epidemiological surveillance of human infections, monitoring of various diseases including HIV, viral hepatitis, acute respiratory viral infections, influenza and other current problems of infectious human pathology. Specialists from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Austria and Latvia will take part in a two-day conference. The researchers will discuss the issues related to infectious sickness rate in Belarus, the goals of epidemiology, A/H1N1 pandemic flu virus, the latest achievements in molecular diagnostics of socio-communicable diseases and other problems. The forum will be composed of several sections. The experts will discuss epidemiological surveillance of human infections, development of infrastructure to support research of chronic fatigue syndrome, HIV and HIV-associated infectious diseases epidemic situation in Belarus, molecular and biological characteristics of epidemic influenza virus strains, molecular diagnostics of socio-communicable diseases, acute respiratory viral infections and other problems. The conference is organized by the Belarusian Health Ministry and the Belarus National Research Institute for Epidemiology and Microbiology.
