20 November 2009 → Minsk to host Salesian Society Symposium 20-21 November
On 20-21 November, Minsk will host the symposium devoted to the activity of the Salesian Society (Roman Catholic religious order), BelTA learnt from the Roman Metropolitan Curia of Minsk.
The symposium is timed to the 150th anniversary of the Salesian Society or the Society of St. Francis de Sales. The order was founded by Italian priest and missionary John Bosco in the late nineteenth century.
The Salesians' charter describes the society's mission as "the Christian perfection of its associates obtained by the exercise of spiritual and corporal works of charity towards the young, especially the poor, and the education of boys to the priesthood".
Attending the symposium will be representatives of the Catholic church, theologians, philosophers and teachers from Belarus, Germany, Italy, Poland and Russia.
