29 December 2009 → German-language programs of Belarus radio station to be aired live in Germany

Beginning 1 January 2010, Euskirchen broadcasting center (Germany) will broadcast German-language programs of Belarus radio station live, BelTA learnt from Director General of the Foreign Broadcasting Division of the radio station Naum Galperovich.

“This is a real breakthrough in the work of the Foreign Broadcasting Division. Our programs will be aired two hours a day (from 8am to 10am CET) by the German Radio 700. The programs will be aired with the help of a German transmitter,” Naum Galperovich said.

Belarus radio station is part of the National State Television and Radio Company. Since 11 May 1962, the call sign of the radio station has been in the short waves on international air. The radio station features news and analytical programs, programs about history, culture, spiritual values of Belarusians.

Naum Galperovich informed that the radio station broadcasts in five languages in 20 countries worldwide. The radio station has its website from which its programs can be downloaded all over the world. In early 2009 over 1.5 million German families had an opportunity to download the programs of the radio station, now they will also be able to listen to the programs live.
