03 February 2010 → Minsk unemployment stands at 0.4%

As of 1 February 2010 unemployment in Minsk stood at 0.4%, BelTA learnt from Anatoly Razhanets, chairman of the committee for labor, employment and social security of the Minsk City Hall.

In January the number of jobless people in the capital fell 2.4% to make up 4,300 people as of 1 February. The demand for workforce grew 1.2% from the beginning of the year.

According to the data, in January 1,269 people were registered as unemployed, 18% down from January 2009.

Some 635 people were placed into jobs through the employment service in January. Some 266 unemployed were placed into professional courses.
