War veterans from all CIS countries are to participate in the parade dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War to be held in Red Square in Moscow on the 9th of May. This was informed by Serguey Lebedev, CIS executive secretary at the International Conference "Victory over fascism in 1945 and its significance for the people of CIS countries and all over the world", BELTA correspondent said.
Serguey Lebedev emphasized that the war veterans will be welcomed by the Presidents of CIS countries who are to hold an informal summit on the 8th of May. In addition a unified medal to the 65th anniversary of the Victory has been instituted. The medal will be invested to the SIC Commonwealth war veterans.
Serguey Lebedev also informed that it had been decided that at the beginning of May a special lesson dedicated to the anniversary of the Victory would be organized at all schools of CIS countries.
The Moscow Conference has become one of the largest CIS events dedicated to the Great Victory. Among its participants there were Presidents and Vice-Presidents of national academies of sciences of the CIS countries, heads of ministries and organizations of the CIS Commonwealth, diplomats and scientists. Belarus was represented by Oleg Proleskovsky, member of the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Council and Minister of Information, Mikhail Miasnikovich, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences, Belarusian scientists. Renowned experts from the Baltic States, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, the USA and China took part in the work of the Conference.
The event which was organized by the Inter-governmental Fund of Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and of the Russian Academy of Sciences was held in accordance with the Inter-governmental Plan of the main activities connected with the preparation and celebration of the 65th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
