European Championship 2011 in rhythmic gymnastics will be held in Minsk. As the "Minsk-News" Agency correspondent was told at the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, this decision was taken at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Union of Gymnastics. Note that it is the first time that Belarus has been given possibility to hold such a big competition as European Championship, although Minsk has already hosted Grand Prix and World Cup Rhythmic Gymnastics.
The Continental Tournament in Rhythmic Gymnastics doesn’t practically yield in its level to the World Cup, as all the world’s strongest gymnasts are representatives of European countries: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Italy. Suffice it to say that on the pedestal of the World Cup – 2009 that was held in Japan there were European gymnasts only.
It is planned that European Championship-2011 will be held from 24 to 29 May in Minsk Palace of Sports.
