Minsk City Executive Committee

In 1969 a new district appeared on the administrative map of Minsk – Pervomaisky District.

For the past 40 years the district has not only advanced in years, become larger and increased its population but also turned into one of the most beautiful areas of the capital. Today Pervomaisky District is the eastern gate of Minsk. On the city map the district is coloured green. The Central Botanical Gardens, Cheliuskintsev Park, Sebastopol Park, forest tracts in the residential areas named "Zeliony Lug" and "Uuruchye" are not only favourite places for rest and recreation of Minsk citizens. They are considered to be some kind of lungs of the city.

As for scientific potential Pervomaisky Distric leads in the country. The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian State Agricultural and Technical University, Belarusian Academy of Arts, Belarusian Academy of Post-graduate Medical Education, Military Academy are situated in the district. Leading scientific workers and technicians, specialists in the field of art work at these establishments.

The products of Minsk Optical and Mechanical Instruments and Devices Plant named after Vavilov, of "Minsk Watch Factory" JSC, "Minsk Margarine Factory" JSC, "Minsk Non-alcoholic Drinks Factory" Public Association are known not only in the Republic of Belarus but also outside the country. Owing to successful work of those who work at the district’s enterprises and organizations Pervomaisky District has repeatedly ranked among the first both in the city and the Republic of Belarus.
