From June 9 till August 31, 2008 civil and erection works aimed at the reconstruction of the transfer station of Minsk metro will take place. Oktyabrskaya station will be closed and there will be no boarding or drop off of the passengers there. The transfer between stations Oktyabrskaya and Kupalovskaya will be disabled.

The trains of the 1st metro line will pass Oktyabrskaya non-stop.

The work of the 2nd metro line will not be changed, and both exits of Kupalovskaya station will proceed functioning.

To provide the transfer between the 1st and 2nd metro lines and to compensate for the shutting of Oktyabrskaya station, bus 33 will function along the route Institute of Culture – Victory Square metro stations and make stops in Moskovskovskaya Str., Independence Square, Komsomolskaya Str. (Lenin), Oktyabrsraya and Victory Square metro stations.

Microdistricts will be connected with the central part of the city and stations of the 1st and 2nd metro lines through the following routes of the surface public transport:

trams № 3, 6, 8,

trolley-buses № 3, 8, 13, 16, 33, 44,

buses № 20, 24, 29, 59, 87, 92.
