By late 2008, the Belarusian Medical Academy of Post-Graduate Education (BMAPGE) will open a transplantology faculty, BelMAPGE Rector Gennady Khulup told BelTA. The new faculty will be set up at the National Centre for Transplantology and Cellular Biotechnologies in Minsk hospital No 9. “At present, the final organization procedures are being completed, the academic and methodological base is being prepared,” Gennady Khulup said. The academic curriculum will cover all the areas of transplantology. The leading specialists from Belarus and abroad will study the transplantation of kidneys, liver, heart, lungs, bone marrow, stem cells and cellular transplantology. “As the transplantology develops in our country, the deficit in the relevant specialists is becoming more acute. The opening of the new faculty will help solve this problem,” Gennady Khulup concluded. |
