The citizens of Azerbaijan permanently living or temporarily staying in Belarus will be able to cast their votes in the presidential elections taking place in Azerbaijan. A polling station will be opened in Minsk on October 15, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Belarus Ali Teimur ogly Nagiev told reporters on October 6. The polling station will be open in the Azerbaijani Embassy situated in Vostochnaya Str., 133 from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m.. About a thousand Azerbaijanis are expected to take part in the elections. All in all, the Azerbaijani community in Belarus numbers almost 15 thousand people. Seven candidates are running for presidency in Azerbaijan, including the incumbent president Ilkham Aliev. According to the Ambassador, monitoring the elections will be representatives of the CIS, OSCE, the Council of Europe and some humanitarian organizations. There are no restrictions for those who want to monitor the elections, Ali Teimur ogly Nagiev said. “I am sure that the people of Azerbaijan will make the right choice electing the person who will guarantee them a decent living,” the diplomat said. |
