1 July 2019 → The closing ceremony of the II European Games took place in Minsk

The solemn closing ceremony of the II European Games was held on June 30 at the Dynamo stadium, the "Minsk-Novosti" Agency correspondent reports.

The theatrical part of the show consisted of six themes and episodes: "Before the start (Hope)", "Second breath (Passion)", "Trainer (Inspiration)", "Respect (Sympathy)", "New Challenge (Sadness)" and "Victory (Euphoria)".

A separate ceremony unit was dedicated to volunteers. 4.5 thousand volunteers came to the stadium; in total, during the Games, 8.7 thousand assistants were involved.

Nikolay Baskov, opera singer Oksana Volkova, groups IOWA, NaviBand, Leprikonsy, J: Mors and others performed in the concert program.

As during the opening ceremony, the creators of the closing show used augmented reality technology, light and projection effects.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan, Presidents of European Olympic Committees Janez Kochiyanchich and the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach became honoured guests of the ceremony.


Over 4 thousand athletes from 50 countries took part in the II European Games. For 10 days of competition athletes played 200 sets of awards in 15 sports (23 disciplines). The national team of Belarus settled in second place in the medal standings, managing to win 69 awards (24 gold, 16 silver, 29 bronze). The first line is taken by the Russians (109 = 44 + 23 + 42).
