The Moldovan wine festival will be held in the Upper City on September 30, the organizers of the event told the "Minsk-Novosti" Agency correspondent.
"Wine in Moldova is something more than wine. It is the symbol of the Republic which on the geographical map really resembles a bunch of grapes", says the Director of the event Vladislava Artyukovskaya. "Since 2002, under the patronage of the Moldovan President, the National Wine Day has been celebrated in the country. This Saturday residents of the Belarusian capital will see the analogue of this holiday. The festival of Moldavian wine will be held in Minsk for the first time," she adds.
The organizers promise that the guests of the Festival will plunge into the atmosphere of the hospitable Moldovan village.
"During the food court to be started at noon 10 leading wine companies will start presentation of their wines. Among the companies there will be Vinaria din Vale, Cricova SA, Lion Gri SRL, Bostovan, Purcari, Asconi, Tomas Vin. They are going to bring exclusive varieties of Moldovan wine, cognac, champagne and organize tasting of them", continues V. Artyukovskaya. "Within the framework of the celebration, the "Business Club" will be held for restaurateurs and representatives of large network of trade outlets that are interested in promoting Moldovan alcohol".
The grand opening of the Festival will take place at 13:00, and then a bright, rich program will be offered. The guests of the event will have a chance to attend a master class on cooking national dishes and hot pies and platsinda - popular Moldovan pastries.
Minsk residents will have a chance to make a selfi with the deliverer of sorrows and cares - Bacchus (he is Dionysus, Vakhos), listen to the performance of the artists of the ensemble "Play", verses of Moldovan poets, learn national dances, get acquainted with Moldovan traditions.
"The day program of the Festival will include performances of pop artists and dance groups from Moldova," says the Director of the event. "In the evening they are planning to arrange a rock concert with participation of the popular Belarusian performer Uncle Vanya. The Festival will end with a joint round dance "Chora", in which all guests of the Festival are supposed to take part: this is just the way that any celebration traditionally ends in the Country of grapes".
The organizers of the Festival are the Embassy of Moldova in Belarus and the Minsk City Executive Committee. The Festival will be held from 12:00 to 23:00.
