1 November 2017 → About 500 participants are expected at the "Startup of the Year - 2017" competition

The "Startup of the Year - 2017" contest will be held in Minsk on December 16. As it is reported by the "Minsk-Novosti" Agency correspondent, this was said by the Director of the "Startup Technology" Business Centre Alexei Shablovsky at a press conference that was held at the Minsk City Executive Committee on November 1.

It is expected that the third contest will bring together about 500 participants. Among them there are 30 investors and authors-developers of 40 start-up projects.

"The event will bring together international investors and venture investment professionals. Among them there will be representatives of the Russian Federation, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the USA, Germany and Israel. The authors of the projects will have a unique chance to present themselves, to present their developments and find money to implement them", A. Shablovsky noted. "In addition, the "Startup of the Year - 2017" will be attended by representatives of the Ministries of Economy and Trade of Belarus, the Minsk City Executive Committee, the High-Tech Park, heads of manufacturing and trading companies, embassies, as well as business and investor communities", he added.

The program of the event includes master classes from business practitioners, thematic panel discussions with the participation of business angels and representatives of investment funds, expert consultations, presentations of investment projects and start-ups, a business contacts exchange. Also within the framework of the contest there will be a real business forum Invest Weekend: authors of business projects of the real sector of the economy will present their ideas and developments to investors, and will compete for the title of the best start-up and business project of 2017.

A distinctive feature of the current "Startup of the Year" is that the authors will present their projects in a number of thematic sections. Among them - information technology, industry, medical equipment, services, etc.

The organizers of the event promise that the winners of the final battle of start-ups will receive cash prizes, gifts and certificates. Applications for participation in the competition are accepted here.
