An exhibition of Israeli artworks made in different techniques on beach tennis rackets opened today in Minsk, BelTA reports.
As the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Belarus Alon Shogam emphasized, the works reflect the beauty of nature and culture. The diplomat drew attention to the fact that Israeli artists of different creative styles, having received such unusual material for work as a pair of wooden beach rackets, came up to the task very creatively.
In turn, the curator of this project, a well-known Israeli art critic as well as one of the authors of the works presented Jaffa Meir said that the idea to create such an exhibition had arisen six years before. For the first time the exposition was presented in Berlin, and the presentation in Minsk is the 12th one. Using the same source material, each artist expressed feelings and emotions in his/her own way.
A total of about 90 works by 79 Israeli artists are exhibited at the "University of Culture" gallery.
The main organizer of the exhibition is the Israeli Cultural Center at the Israeli Embassy in Minsk.
