The road map for trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for 2018-2020 was signed between Minsk and St. Petersburg on September 12, the correspondent of the agency Minsk-Novosti reports.
The document was signed during the meeting of the First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Fedor RIMASHEVSKY with the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy POLTAVCHENKO.
During the talks, the parties discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation. In particular, -the construction of symmetrical residential quarters – a residential quarter of St. Petersburg in Minsk and a residential quarter of Minsk in the city on the Neva. According to G. Poltavchenko a lot of work has already been done in this direction and construction of facilities will be started soon. The Governor also suggested studying the opportunities for training specialists in higher educational institutions of St. Petersburg. Discussing issues of cultural exchange and humanitarian ties, G. Poltavchenko expressed the hope that the next Petersburg theater season in Minsk, which will be held in December this year, will be received with interest by the Belarusian audience.
Another important component of the visit is the meetings of the heads of the districts of Minsk and St. Petersburg. During the meetings, there was signed an agreement on cooperation between the administrations of Frunzensky District of Minsk and Kurortny District of St. Petersburg, and a program of cooperation between the Central District of St. Petersburg and the Central District of Minsk on trade-economic, scientific, technical, educational and cultural issues for 2019- 2020.
