24 December 2019 → Anatoly Sivak: Moscow is a strategic partner of the Republic of Belarus

On December 24, the meeting of the working group on coordination of interaction between Belarus and Moscow took place for the sixth time at the city hall of the Russian capital, the Press Secretary of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Elena Mokhor, told the "Minsk Novosti" Agency correspondent.

The Head of Minsk, Anatoly Sivak, was the co-chair of the working group on coordination of interaction between Belarus and Moscow.

"The parties discussed cooperation in the industrial sector, the participation of Belarusian enterprises in the development of municipal, construction and road sectors of the capital of the Russian Federation," said E. Mokhor.

A. Sivak emphasized that Moscow has traditionally been among the strategic partners of Belarus.

"Today we are ready to offer new samples of utility vehicles, continue the supply of passenger equipment, as well as saturate the shelves of the Russian capital with affordable high-quality food," the Head of the Belarusian capital said.

Sergey Cheremin, Minister of Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations, confirmed that Belarusian equipment is actively used in the transport and construction sectors of Moscow, as well as in housing and communal services. Belarusian specialists are actively involved in the development of the Moscow metro, in particular, with their help, the construction of a new Nekrasov line is being completed.

S. Cheremin noted that Belarus is on the list of leaders of Moscow’s foreign trade partners. So, in 2018, bilateral trade amounted to almost $ 7 billion. According to the results of the current year, the same figures are expected.

As a result of the meeting, The Plan of Program Activities for the Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Humanitarian, Cultural and Social Cooperation for 2020-2022 was signed. The plan was signed by Anatoly Sivak, Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, and Sergey Cheremin, Minister of Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations .
