11 February 2021 → "Minsk is a city that is not inferior in beauty and cleanliness to European megacities" - delegate of the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly
The delegate from the Vitebsk Region Olga GURCHENKO, participating in the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly, told the delegates what worries the teaching youth from the regions, the correspondent of the "Minsk-Novosti" agency reports.
Olga Gurchenko is a delegate representing the Vitebsk Region. She heads the Pervomaisky District Organization of the Trade Union of Workers of Education and Science.
"I am present at such a landmark forum for the first time. This is honorable and responsible because I represent the interests of a very important area - education," - she says.
It is not the first time that O. Gurchenko has been in the capital:
"I've always liked Minsk, and every time I arrive in the city, I see new transformations. This is a city that is not inferior in beauty, cleanliness, architecture to European megacities. Today, when discussing the field of education, it is important to touch upon the issues of personnel policy, youth employment. Newly minted specialists should be eager to work in kindergartens and schools. However, there is a tendency: they work for two years – and are trying to find themselves in other areas.
According to her, the situation can and should be resolved, firstly, by revising approaches to payroll.
"Yes, you need to earn your salary. However, there should be a gradation, methods of stimulation: a young specialist should be interested in career growth in the chosen profession. The issue of housing is also important. It can be rented. It is necessary to focus on the construction of youth hostels - this is very important," O. Gurchenko believes.
The delegate is sure that the issue of raising children and youth will also be paid attention to at the Forum.
"Patriotism, devotion to the Motherland are not just pretentious loud words. This must be brought up in a person from infancy - and in a family. I am in favor of strengthening family traditions. In the presented program on the socio-economic development of our country, I hope, due attention will be paid to the upbringing of children and youth, the values of the family. In this matter, responsibility must be born by parents also, and not only by educational institutions," O. Gurchenko believes.
