16 February 2021 → Three multifunctional complexes "Mandarin" will be in Minsk
In December, the construction of two multifunctional sports and recreation complexes, which will be included in the Mandarin network, began in the capital at once, the correspondent of the “Minsk-Novosti” agency reports.
One of them is located in Kamennaya Gorka at the intersection of Nemanskaya and Kazimirovskaya Streets, the other - in Loshitsa, in Ya. Luchina Street. The customer for the construction of both facilities is SE "Aqua-Minsk".
— “The facilities will be different even visually, although they are created according to the same concept,” commented the General Director of the enterprise Alexander GERASIMOVICH. “Considering the experience of the first multifunctional complex in Gerasimenko Street, we have left what is most in demand.”
What new will there be in the multifunctional sports and recreation complexes? First of all, a water-thermal zone with swimming pools (for adults, for kids up to four years old, for swimming lessons). There will also be a complex of various baths and saunas, an ice room, additional hydro-procedures (hot tubs-jacuzzi, "waterfall" and underwater massage) and, of course, a place for relaxation, where one can lie on the sun loungers. There will also be a massage room. Another component of each centre will be a large gym and two smaller rooms for aerobics, group workouts or general physical training for children.
The area of the complex in Ya. Luchina Street will be 5 thousand m 2, and the area of the complex in Kazimirovskaya Street will make up more than 11 thousand m 2, therefore the water-thermal zone there will be more extensive. For example, more baths are planned there, and there will be another path in the pool. Also, at the request of the city authorities, a hockey rink with mobile stands and other accompanying premises will be added to the MFC in Kamennaya Gorka: an equipment rental point, changing rooms, showers, a dressing room. In this part of the complex, mass skating sessions are planned, amateurs will have the opportunity to play hockey, if necessary, ice will be rented for training athletes. It will be possible to get to the skating rink from the common hall of the building.
As for the large public catering facility that operates in the first "Mandarin", it has been decided to abandon it. Only mini-cafes will be left in the new MFCs.
Both complexes are being built by the Polish company UNIBEP S.A. which built the “Aqua-Minsk” medical and tennis centres and the new “Victoria” Hotel. The facility will be commissioned on a turnkey basis, which is important for the customer because the project has already included specific materials for interior decoration, the necessary equipment. Financing will go for borrowed funds and partly for the customer's funds.
According to A. Gerasimovich, it is planned to hand over the “Mandarin” in Loshitsa no later than March 8, 2022, in Kamennaya Gorka - by about November 7 of the same year.
When asked about the further expansion of the network, the interlocutor replied:
— “We are not talking about Minsk yet, but there is a demand for such facilities in the regions. The concept has confirmed its attractiveness, people like to spend time in such complexes with the whole family. This means that MFCs will be in demand and the construction expenses will be compensated. The Chairman of the Slonim District Executive Committee got acquainted with our facility and was impressed by it. Now a project for a similar sports complex is being developed for this town.”
The first "Mandarin" which is in Gerasimenko Street, has been working since November 2015. The facility combines a sports complex and an entertainment component. The building houses a bowling alley, laser tag, a water area, a thermal complex, a beauty centre, fitness rooms, functional training halls, martial arts, a gym, and a fast-food restaurant. It is worth mentioning that the name for the complex was invented by the citizens of Minsk themselves. At the peak time before the pandemic, the MFC received up to 2,200 people a day; about 500,000 people visit it a year.
